To celebrate the teachings of Sri Swami Satyananda, we have started a Yoga and Ecology project which we have called ‘A walk in Nature’. In this walk, guided by the teacher, we used simple practices of Satyananda Yoga to reconnect with Nature and create a bond that can guide us to live in harmony: breathing techniques and pranayama to revitalize the body and mind, pratyahara to harmonize the senses and the Mahamrityunjaya mantra to purify the environment. We stopped in several areas to repeat the mantra with the sankalpa of health, happiness and harmony. We practised mouna in different forms, both walking in absolute silence and speaking to each other only with useful and positive words. At the end of the walk, each participant received a bag of bulbs to plant in their garden and which will flower in the spring.
