Why does Brahman form jivas?
Why does the ocean form waves?
Because it's their nature, they flow in that way.
Though the ocean is one,
and the substance the same,
they felt themselves different
and so 'ego' became. Then that small helpless wave,
in an ocean of pain,
fights for its way in sun and in rain.
When winning the fight
it feels itself great,
but whether success or failure
all meet the same fate. When they crash to the shore,
the waves lose their form
and become part of the ocean
from which they were born.
And when jiva meets death
Brahman absorbs him again,
But thinking himself 'jiva',
he feels loss and pain. Why feel yourself different
from the substance you are made of,
and why suffer the fears
of what you may lose.
Just start looking in
to the depths of the ocean,
and realize you are one
with that body of bliss.Your wave will keep travelling,
you'll look just the same
but the ups and the downs
will just be a game.
Infinite as the ocean, tranquil of mind,
you'll leave all cares and worries behind.
