Free weekly classes for refugees were offered at four different locations around Liverpool for Tools for Inner Peace. In their feedback, many of the participants spoke touchingly about the meaning of these ongoing yoga classes: the physical and mental health benefits, the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the possibility to create connections with other people to overcome social isolation.
Tools for Inner Peace launched a one-year foundation yoga training for refugees living in the UK. The aim is to give refugees themselves the skills to share yoga practices within their communities. Participants originate from countries around the world: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Eritrea, Iran, Nigeria, Sudan and Ukraine.
