Coming in Yoga

The subjects to be contained within future issues of Yoga will include scientific, systematic and practical yogic techniques such as antar mouna, trataka, japa, ajapa japa, yoga nidra, swara sadhana, nada yoga, prana vidya, kriya yoga, kundalini yoga, karma yoga, jnana yoga, bhakti yoga, hatha yoga shatkarmas, asanas, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, dharana and all types of general and abstract meditational practices. Also to be discussed are all the healing systems both ancient and modern, such as: yogic therapy, naturopathy, ayurveda, allopathy, homoeopathy, acupuncture, herbal medicine, chromotherapy, gem therapy, music and sound therapy, diet and so forth.

In mysticism we will explore traditional rites and techniques used in tantra, vajrayana, Christian mysticism, Hasidism, Sufism, tai chi chuan and so on, as well as diagrams and practical descriptions of chakra vidya, psychic physiology, mandalas, yantras and so forth. Scientific investigations of yoga techniques as well as new trends in science including biofeedback, Kirlian photography, investigations into psychic phenomena, will form an important part of this magazine.

Many stories with a message will be told about the ashram, Swamiji's encounters with disciples and life both in the present day and in his wandering days, stories of other great yogis, and parables. All stories will be intended to teach something, or perhaps to give a jolt from current misconceptions and dogmas.

Inspired poetry elevates a receptive reader. A poem can be a mantra. Laughter is also an important part of yoga. A moment of laughter is a moment of bliss. Often yoga tends to be a bit dry, therefore we will bring in poetry and humour to rectify this imbalance.
